Gout and Diabetes

It has been a while since I talked about gout and diabetes. Even though these two conditions are not directly related their cause are are very similar in that they are diet related. Gout was known in the earlier days as the disease of kings because of the life style of kings. Follow the link to "Disease of Kings" Gout is caused or at least aggravated by an unhealthy diet. For example high purine foods like organ meats, shell fish, and high sugary drinks can increase the risk of having a gout attack. The eating habits of those who get gout may also cause obesity, and with obesity the risk of type 2 diabetes increases. The conclusion of all this is that those who get gout may have a high risk of getting type 2 diabetes as well. For more information please follow the link to webmd, this site will explain the risks and how you may reduce the risks of both gout and diabetes. Eat well, Live well.
